Prince Avenue Academy is part of SEEAT (South East Essex Academy Trust) which also includes Hadleigh Community Primary School, Holt Farm Junior School, Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery, Rochford Primary and Nursery School, The Deanes School, Westborough Primary school and Westcliff High School for Girls. The Trust has its own Board of Directors and CEO.
Prince Avenue Academy has its own Local Governing Body comprising members of staff, representatives of the local community and representatives of the parent body all of whom are elected for a four- year period
There are three core functions of a governing body, as reflected in Ofsted’s Inspection:
* Setting vision, ethos and strategic direction, engaging stake holders and ensuring statutory duties are met and that there are procedures in place for the handling of complaints
* holding heads to account for teaching, achievement, behaviour and safety; challenging and strengthening leadership; contributing to school self-evaluation
* ensuring financial solvency and probity with effective management of financial resources, including Pupil and Sports Premiums, to raise standards
The LGB meets twice termly and along with the Headteacher aims to ensure that all children receive the very best of education and are able to make the most of all the opportunities available and achieve the highest standards of which they are capable.
Each Governor has a specific responsibility for a particular subject or area of development or area ongoing management. Governors are encouraged to visit as often as they ar able to attend assemblies, sports events, concerts, open evenings etc and are expected to make at least once a time to monitor their particular area of responsibility. These responsibilities are reviewed each year and are linked to the School Improvement Plan.
