Design & Technology

Design and Technology is an inspiring and practical subject; it encourages children to learn to think and intervene creatively to solve problems both as individuals and as members of a team. At Prince Avenue, we encourage children to use their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.

We are committed to:

• Nurturing creativity and the idea of designing to meet a need

• Championing successes and the learning from not succeeding the first time

• Highlighting the long-term benefits of being able to cook and adopting a healthy diet

Prince Avenue pupils will:

• Never be afraid to take risks and put forward creative solutions to problems

• Always strive for better within the subject - refining, improving etc.

• Enjoy the wins, but more importantly - learn to embrace things not going quite so well

• Understand that being able to cook and provide themselves with a healthy diet will give them the very best start in life
