Personal, Social & Health Education

At Prince Avenue, we wish to help children explore and understand themselves and each other. Studying Relationships and Sex Education will allow our learners to make informed choices and know how to keep themselves safe. We strive to promote confidence and self-esteem in our learners. We aim to enhance pupils’ well being and challenge any misconceptions, allowing the children to be open minded and appreciate a diverse community. All of this will support our learners in becoming well-rounded members of society.

Our PSHE curriculum offer aims to strengthen the following principles:

• Develop young people's understanding of the importance of healthy and respectful relationships with all people.

• Contribute to children's understanding of the world around them and foster a respect of people irrespective of background or situation.

• Learning to live together-to understand one another and appreciate one another.

• Teaching the importance of kindness, respecting differences and treating everyone equally.

• Communicating purposefully, confidently and openly in order to effectively express opinions, feelings and emotions.

• Develop the capacity to make sound decisions when facing risk

• Support pupils to develop resilience and to know how and when to ask for help and how/where to access support

• Learning how to make informed decisions about their own well-being
